Robin Williams

ROBIN WILLIAMS
See this Legend of Comedy
with tickets from Big Time!

Robin Williams is an American actor and stand-up comedian whose mastery of physical humor, funny voices and rapid-fire comedy has made him a living legend of wit. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Robin was quite shy as a child and was actually voted "Least Likely to Succeed" by his graduating class.

After high school Robin was accepted into Juliard where he impressed his professors with his ability to do different voices and his knack for learning impressions quickly.  After graduating, Williams was given a role on the short lived "The Richard Pryor Show" which got him discovered by producer Garry Marshall. Marshall gave Robin his first big break by casting him to play the alien Mork on a guest spot for the show "Happy Days."  His spitfire comedy stylings and range of voices made him very popular with audiences, which led to the character being spun-off into his own show titled "Mork and Mindy."

During its heyday "Mork and Mindy" was extremely popular with viewers, spinning off merchandise like posters and lunchboxes and making Robin Williams a household name.  After "Mork," Williams would go on to have a fairly successful film career, both in comedies like "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Good Morning, Vietnam" to serious drama such as "One Hour Photo" and "Insomnia."  He has lent his diverse voice to several animated characters, including the Genie from the Disney animated classic "Aladdin." He has been nominated for several Academy Awards, winning Best Supporting Actor in 1998 for his role in "Good Will Hunting."

Although Robin Williams has become a very big success in recent years, he has never forgotten his humble roots as a stand-up comedian. Throughout his career, Robin has continued to do occasionally do stand-up and live performances, including HBO Specials, a one-man Broadway show and a guest apperance on the improvisational comedy show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"  Williams makes up one-third of the Comic Relief comedians, along with Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg, who have used the power of laughter for charitable causes.

Voted by Comedy Central as one of the "100 Greatest Comedians of All-Time," Robin Williams energy and stage presence is equal to no other. When he comes to a venue near you this autumn, be sure to get your tickets from Big Time Worldwide. We can get you seats close enough to see every little nuance and facial expression that this talented comedian has.
