One of the greatest groups in modern music, Coldplay, continues to prove their musical mettle with a new album release and accompanying tour! For the first time since 2005, Coldplay fans have had the chance to enjoy new material from their favorite band with the recent release of "Viva La Vida," the band's fourth studio album.  The band decided to go a different route this time and released the album's first single "Violet Hill" as an exclusive free mp3 download for the first week of its release. After over two million downloads the single has begun to climb the modern rock charts.

With the release of the new album, Coldplay returns to the road for their "Viva La Vida Tour."  The band will kick off the tour in London with another free give away to their fans by performing a free show at Brixton Academy. 

Coldplay started out playing together in London England in 1997. The band is comprised of Guy Berryman on bass, Jonny Buckland on lead guitar, Will Champion on drums and vocalist/pianist/guitarist Chris Martin.  The band met while attending University College London and gained fame with their hit single "Yellow" off of their debut album "Parachutes."  The band later went on to score hits with "The Scientist" "Clocks" and "Speed of Silence." Coldplay is also involved in several charitable organizations and are supporters of Amnesty International and Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign.
